Certification (Labellisation)
The certification of tourism products is a guarantee of their quality and recognition, as well as a response to customer expectations.
There are many labels managed by different organizations, each with varied and sometimes converging standards and specifications. These labels differ depending on the type of product, whether accommodation or leisure activities.
For accommodation, labels generally focus on sustainability, with additional emphasis on one of the following aspects: environmental, social, economic, or managerial. They are issued by international organizations, and some have already been introduced in Morocco, such as the "Green Key" label managed by the Mohamed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection. "Green Key managed by the Mohamed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment.
For leisure activities, many labels are in the form of certificates or standards, mainly related to safety, such as climbing, hunting tourism, and paragliding. Other labels concern the products around which the activities are built, such as local products (Morocco Terroir label) and handicrafts (Madmoun label, Responsible Artisan label, Premium Quality label, etc.).
