Tourism product labeling is a guarantee of product quality and recognition, as well as a response to customer demands.
There are many different types of label, run by different managers, with different, yet converging, frames of reference and specifications. These differ according to the nature of the target product, whether accommodation or entertainment.
In the accommodation sector, these labels generally focus on sustainability, with additional emphasis on one of the following aspects: environmental, social, economic or managerial. They are promoted by international organizations, and some have already been introduced in Morocco, such as the "Green Key managed by the Mohamed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment.
As for entertainment activities, a significant number are concerned with certificates or standards relating mainly to safety, as in the case of rock climbing, tourist hunting and paragliding. Other labels concern, in particular, the products around which the activities have been built, such as local produce (label Maroc terroir) and crafts (label Madmoun, label artisan responsable, label qualité premium, etc.).
